Maintaining the health of our hips preserves our basic body mechanics and function, and has the ability to prevent and restore injury. Research has shown that we experience emotion in our bodies. Most notable fear, stress, trauma, and anxiety manifest in the form of tension within our bodies – particularly, in our hips. Our hips “store” negative emotion. Lengthening and opening these muscles not only releases tension but also releases locked emotions.
